Chelsea and Manchester City target Thomas Lemar is expected to stay at Monaco for ‘another year or two’, according to his father.
The winger has enjoyed a brilliant season in France this year and has seven goals and seven assists in Ligue 1 so far.
Chelsea and Manchester City have been alerted by the 21-year-old’s displays and they both want to bring him to England this summer.
Lemar has also attracted interest from the likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus and Real Madrid.
But now the Frenchman’s father, Edwige, has revealed he expects his son to stay at Monaco for potentially two more years as he is registering consistent playing time at the Stade Louis II.
“Everything will happen in time if it has to happen. Today, Thomas is with the leader of Ligue 1,” he told Ouest France.
“There is no particular projection for him. We are of the belief that logically the plan is playing time, which is what he has at Monaco.
“Sometimes there are economic parameters that you do not know, but I think the goal would be to have another year or two in Monaco.”
