Barcelona are considering an attempt to hijack Liverpool’s pursuit of Monaco star Thomas Lemar, according to reports in Spain.
The 21-year-old has been the subject of intense speculation throughout the summer window, with both Liverpool and Arsenal reportedly interested in snapping him up.
Arsenal’s interest appears to have cooled, while Liverpool have taken up the mantle and launched their own bid.

Monaco have since rejected their advances but a deal still remains a possibility before Thursday’s deadline.
However, it now seems the Reds will be joined by Barcelona, with Sport claiming the Spanish giants are ready to swoop in at the last minute.
Barca have been consistently linked with a move for Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho, but the Premier League side have refused to do business.
And now it appears that the two European heavyweights will do battle again before Thursday’s deadline, with Lemar’s future still up in the air.
