Arsenal may have spent big to bring Alexandre Lacazette to the club, but they are not finished on the transfer front yet.

Arsene Wenger smashed the Gunners’ transfer record to bring the Lyon forward to the club in a deal worth around £52.7m.

Now they are being linked with further additions, with a couple of possible exits too, and Wenger has been discussing some of these deals at his press conference in Sydney.

The north Londoners touched down in Australia ahead of their pre-season tour and they will be looking to hit the ground running in their preparations ahead of the Premier League season.

Alexis Sanchez – won't sell to a Premier League rival
Alexis Sanchez – won't sell to a Premier League rival – Reports on Tuesday claim the Chilean wants to link up with former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola again at Manchester City. The 28-year-old has 12 months remaining on his current contract in north London and is said to be demanding a significant increase on his current (approximately) £130,000-a-week wage packet. When asked if Sanchez has told him he wants to leave, Wenger said: "No. Nobody knows today if Sanchez will be in the final year of his contract next season, because he can as well extend his contract with us at the start of the season or during the season, so it's not necessarily the last year of his contract with Arsenal." Should Sanchez choose to leave the Emirates, Wenger insists the club will not sell to a Premier League rival, after reported interest from City and Chelsea.
Kylian Mbappe (Monaco) – red carpet rolled out
Kylian Mbappe (Monaco) – red carpet rolled out – One of the most in-demand footballers in the world, Wenger has refused to rule out signing 18-year-old Kylian Mbappe, who took Ligue 1 and the Champions League by storm last term. Despite signing forward Alexandre Lacazette for £52.7m, Wenger maintains his admiration for Mbappe. He said: “He's a player who, when he gets up in the morning, can choose where he wants to go. There are not many players with that kind of luck because he's 18 years of age and all of Europe has a red carpet open for him. Nobody can say he is not interested in a player of that calibre, all the clubs are interested in him." Also a target for Real Madrid, Mbappe is valued at over £100m.
Thomas Lemar (Monaco) – 'a player we've looked at'
Thomas Lemar (Monaco) – 'a player we've looked at' – The 21-year-old winger impressed as he helped Monaco win the Ligue 1 title and reach the Champions League semi-finals last term, scoring 14 goals and assisting 17 in 55 appearances in all competitions. Arsenal have been strongly linked with his signing, apparently submitting two bids of around 40m-45m Euros, which have subsequently been rejected. According to reports in France, he has told Monaco that he wants to join Arsenal and work under Wenger next season. But his father is said to want him to sign a new contract at the principality club, further boosting his international chances ahead of the World Cup next summer. On Lemar, Wenger said: "He’s a player that we have looked at, but the rest is only speculation. That’s all speculation at the moment, there is nothing really concrete about any signing."
Olivier Giroud – 'loves the club'
Olivier Giroud – 'loves the club' – Alexandre Lacazette’s big-money arrival has put Giroud further down the pecking order, but Wenger insists he is ‘very determined to stay’. Giroud understandably wants regular first-team football ahead of the World Cup next year and he is said to be attracting the interest of Everton, West Ham and Marseille. But, according to The Telegraph, Wenger is refusing to sell Giroud until the futures of Sanchez and Lemar have been settled. The French boss said: “We extended his contract last year so our resolution is clear. He has great value to the squad and I think as well he is a great lover of the club. He loves the club and has always been very determined to stay.”
Lucas Perez – pushed out
Lucas Perez – pushed out – Perez has lost his number nine shirt number to Alexandre Lacazette – he now occupies the number 28 at Arsenal. As reported on talkSPORT.com on Monday, Perez is not part of Arsenal’s travelling squad to Australia for pre-season and he has been targeted by Turkish giants Fenerbahce, while Deportivo La Coruna’s president says their chances of re-signing the 28-year-old are ‘remote’. Perez, who cost Arsenal £17m last summer, made just 11 Premier League appearances in 2016/17 and will see his chances reduced further after the addition of Lacazette.
Joel Campbell – still there!
Joel Campbell – still there! – Perez now holds the 28 shirt – formerly Campbell’s number. The Costa Rican international has not been given a squad number, according to Metro, which surely mean his days as an Arsenal player are limited. He spent last season on loan at Sporting Lisbon, scoring just three and assisting four in all competitions and he is extremely unlikely to get a look in next term with Arsenal’s attacking options. Galatasaray are said to be interested in signing the 25-year-old winger.
