Arsenal are reportedly in talks with Atletico Madrid over a possible deal for Thomas Lemar.
RMC Sport claim the Gunners are hoping to complete a deal for the Frenchman this month, but no agreement is close to being agreed as things stand.
The Gunners are also rumoured to be in contact with the player, but to date only tentative discussions have taken place.
Lemar joined Atletico from Monaco in a £52.7m deal in 2018, but has strugled to make an impact for Diego Simeone’s side.
Atletico are now open to selling Lemar as they need to make room to fund the signing of a new striker.
The LaLiga outfit remains hopeful of completing a deal to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani, although they face competition from Chelsea and Manchester United for his signature.
Meanwhile, a report linking Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with Barcelona has been dismissed by Mikel Arteta.

The striker, who is one match into a three game ban, has reportedly been in touch with the Spanish club to say he wants to join them.
When asked about Aubameyang’s latest link with the LaLiga giants Arteta replied: “As far as I know, I think a week ago, we were discussing that he said he was so happy, that he didn’t agree with the things that were being written in the media, that he has his future here.
“I’m so happy with that so that’s where I’m standing at the moment.”
