Antoine Griezmann has put pen to paper on a new deal with Atletico Madrid as France team-mate Thomas Lemar arrived at the LaLiga giants in a £63million deal.
Fellow Frenchman Lucas Hernandez has agreed new terms until 2024 with Atletico as well.
It’s a tremendous piece of business by Atletico CEO Angel Gil Marin, who was given permission by Les Bleus boss Didier Deschamps to complete the triple swoop.
This comes days after Griezmann released a bizarre video where he confirmed he would not be moving to Barcelona despite being heavily linked with the Catalonia club.
The acquisition of Lemar could have been the deciding factor in keeping the 27-year-old at the Wanda Metropolitano, as the winger had been linked with a move to Arsenal and Liverpool in previous transfer windows.
Lemar, 22, has been in great form over the last two seasons as he hopes to star alongside Griezmann at the 2018 World Cup for France.
Hernandez, 22, earned a spot in Deschamps’ star-studded squad after excelling for the Europa League champions.
His new deal is another huge boost for Atleti chief Diego Simeone who has got some important business taken care of early.
