Premier League giants Arsenal and Liverpool have lost out to Atletico Madrid in the battle for Thomas Lemar.
The Monaco midfielder has, according to Cadena Ser, agreed personal terms with the Spanish club after holding talks.
Atletico are now agreeing a fee for the France international, but they are so confident of completing the deal that they have reserved the number 10 shirt for him at the Wanda Metropolitano.
The news will come as a hammer blow to both Arsenal and Liverpool, who are long-term admirers of Lemar.
Arsenal tried to sign the 22-year-old last summer, while Liverpool made an approach for him in January as both clubs look to create formidable midfields in their attempts to rival 2017/18 title winners Manchester City.
But now both clubs have lost out, with Lemar expecting to become an Atletico player before the World Cup starts.
Whether he will join compatriot Antoine Griezmann or replace him remains to be seen with Barcelona seemingly intent on landing the Europa League winner.
