Liverpool are on the brink of signing Monaco star Thomas Lemar, according to reports in France.
The Reds are long-term admirers of Lemar and were linked with a move for the 22-year-old last summer.
Arsenal were also interested in the forward, but he ended up staying in France as no clubs were willing no meet Monaco’s £88million asking price.
The France international caught the attention of a host of top sides with a prolific campaign for Monaco last season, scoring 14 goals and claiming 17 assists.
He has been quieter this term netting only three times with eight assists, but Liverpool remain keen.
And, according to reports from Le 10 Sport, the Reds are close to an agreement in principle to sign in-demand Lemar.
The French magazine claim Liverpool have ‘made some good moves’ recently and are putting the finishing touches on a potential deal for the Monaco man.
Lemar has two years left to run on his current contract.
